Let me paint a picture for you: you’re a huge Star Wars fan, and you have an idea for the upcoming warmer weather. You want to screen the entire Skywalker saga once Episode IX comes to Blu-ray on March 31, 2020.
We’re talking all nine movies, going from about noon to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The first thing you’d have to consider is in what order you’d watch them. Do you go in episode order where you start with the prequels, or do you go in order of release, with episodes IV, V, and VI getting the party started?
Traditionalists are likely to prefer the latter, whereas the new wave of Star Wars junkies might actually prefer the former.
Then again, you could do something wild and watch the most recent trilogy first, then cruise into the prequels, and finish strong with the original three.
Having only had access to A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi when I was a kid, I only had one way to watch, but I often wondered if the [SPOILER ALERT] tragic fall and subsequent redemption of Anakin Skywalker would have felt different had I started my Star Wars journey with Episode I.
Eh, no matter how you do it, it’d be a lot of fun!
OK, once you have the basics worked out, you might look to enhance your event with some Star Wars-themed merchandise and foodstuffs. So, you do what any sensible 21st-century person would do. You take to the internet. You search Instagram, Pinterest, and Amazon for all things Star Wars.
Then, one day in your search, you come upon a few items from Michael Finney (Instagram @finney_metalart) “so wise, and so powerful with The Force,” that you are drawn to them like Luke is drawn to the cave on Dagobah. You know you must have them. They provide the perfect blend of form and function to make your Star Wars viewing weekend a complete success!
First, there are these Imperial TIE Fighter fire pits.

Coming in Classic, X2, and Interceptor models, they look fantastic. Even Trekkies would be hard-pressed not to agree! In fact, I don’t even think you’d need to be a Star Wars fan to purchase one of these. They’re awesome. And they’re versatile! Not only are they exquisitely-crafted pieces of art, they’re also heat sources that can be used to warm you up on a crisp summer evening, or to grill up your favorite backyard barbecue eats. Check ‘em out!
[Disclaimer: These are fire pits, so please use care when operating, particularly if there are little ones or pets around.]
Interested? Just send him a message on Instagram, and he can give you the details on pricing and shipping. While you’re at it, you might want to inquire into a couple of other items as well. If you’re a fan of the Dark Side, he’s also made a Darth Vader version. It’s pretty boss.
But you can’t stop there.
You have to grab your Millenium Falcon cutting board.
Your Lightsaber spatula.
And you can’t watch a movie without your Star Wars popcorn maker droid.
To protect your Jedi outfit? A Vader apron, of course.
Episode IX is the end of an era, so go big or go home, right? This inflatable projector screen will help you bring the big-screen action of Star Wars to your backyard or driveway. It even comes with a storage bag.
Oh, yeah—you can’t forget a projector! This is a highly rated one from BenQ. To ensure a great viewing experience, you might even have to elevate it, which requires a stand. But don’t worry—I got you covered. Check out this tripod here!
Last but certainly not least, those spring nights can get a little chilly. If you are extra confident in your manhood, you may need a Snuggie—cough, cough—I mean a tough, manly Darth Vader throw blanket with sleeves.
This is going to be one epic adventure. May the force be with you.
